Event Description :The Emirates Stakes Day is the final raceday of the Melbourne Cup Carnival — but by no means the quietest.Families and other race lovers alike will arrive at the beautiful Flemington Racecourse with a sense of anticipation and looking forward to a day of spectacular racing, wholesome fun and activities for the young and young at heart. The racing highlight of the day will be the $2 million Group 1 Emirates Stakes (formerly Mackinnon) — 2000m of pure excitement at weight-for-age, sure to attract the stars of international racing. Off the track, the day will be packed with free activities and live entertainment for children of all ages. Highlights include the Emirates Stakes Day Fashions on the Field, a light-hearted event for younger racegoers and families, offering the opportunity to impress in the fashion stakes and claim fantastic prizes. Food stalls, kiosks and cafes catering to both younger and more grown-up tastes will be in full swing, ready to sustain the energy levels as a fun-loving crowd gets into full swing.
